From Grief to Gratitude: One Soul’s Journey
The death of a loved one can be frightening, confusing, and mysterious. Grief is an inevitable emotion that we will all face. It takes us on a journey that can plunge us into the deepest, darkest part of our life. It can be overwhelming, and the void left behind can be filled with anger, guilt, self-pity, and hopelessness. But it can also be transformative. The loss of a loved one is permanent, but if we allow it, it can be an opportunity to find new meaning in our own life. It is possible for us to be grateful for what once was instead of longing for what should have been.

Inspiration for From Grief to Gratitude: One Soul’s Journey
My inspiration for writing this book came from a deep desire to ease my suffering due to the loss of my husband and my two closest friends. Since I had retired to take care of my husband, my career had ended. My children were grown and had families of their own. I was no longer anyone’s best friend. I desperately needed to understand why the pain was so crippling.
Reviews for From Grief to Gratitude: One Soul’s Journey
This is a hopeful, helpful small treasure as the author takes us on a tour of the losses in her life with honesty, tenderness, and compassion. As she identifies the suffering in her own heart we are encouraged to do the same. As she let God move her through grieving to find new courage, new hope, and a new life, we are strengthened to choose how to experience our own losses. The end-of-chapter questions provide an opportunity for reflecting on our own journeys through grief.
I could relate to many situations in this book and have had many struggles throughout my life. The way the author changes her viewpoint over time and grows through the pain and heartache is inspiring.
